Founded by Miguel Garza, LPC, EMDR-Trained clinician, the practice offers a welcoming and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward healing and personal growth. Our therapeutic approach is tailored to each client’s unique needs and may incorporate evidence-based practices, creative interventions, and the supportive human-animal bond when appropriate. Animal-assisted therapy is available as an optional part of treatment and is never required.  Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, behavioral concerns, relationship difficulties, or a challenging life transition, Pawsitive Path Counseling PLLC is here to help you find hope, build resilience, and create your own pawsitive path forward. About me Hello everyone, Im Miguel Garza, a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Pawsitive Path Counseling.

I have more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field, working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I earned my Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Texas–Pan American, now The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2011. Throughout my career, I have helped clients work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, behavioral concerns, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. Most recently I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporate evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s individual needs. My counseling style is compassionate, approachable, and supportive. I believe therapy should be a safe and welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. When appropriate, I may also incorporate animal-assisted interventions to provide additional comfort, connection, and support. Participation is always optional and based on your preferences and therapeutic goals. Meet the team Groot, Rocket, Lylla & Comet

Understanding yourself is a meaningful step forward.

Learning about mental health can help you put feelings into words, recognize your needs, and feel more prepared to seek support. This space is dedicated to topics such as emotional wellness, relationships, coping with change, and what to expect from counseling.

Every person’s path is different. As you explore, bring your questions and concerns into your counseling sessions. Together, we can consider what feels relevant to your life and how it connects with your personal goals.
